Helena Sinervo

Helena Sinervo is a writer, poet and translator who lives in Helsinki. She has published 11 books of poems and four novels, as well as two fairy tale novels and a collection of children’s poems. She has received several significant awards for her work, such as the Finlandia Prize for the novel Runoilijan talossa (In the House of the Poet, 2004), the Dancing Bear Poetry Award awarded by the Finnish Broadcasting Company for both Ihmisen kaltainen (Like a Human Being, 2001) and Väärän lajin laulut (Songs of the Wrong Species, 2011) and the prestigious Aleksis Kivi Prize (2020). for lifetime achievement.
