The new Finnish PEN website has been published!
The website reform has been needed and planned for a long time. The bugs and faults of the old site were well known – feedback and ideas were also collected from the members. The objective of the reform was, among other things, to facilitate information search and improve usability.
The pro bono co-operation with the meritorious communications agency Recommended Oy was a very joyful and welcome news for Finnish PEN. The co-operation was smooth right from the start and flexible in both directions. The partner seemed to understand and accept the challenges of a small association that operates on a voluntary work. The visual plan for the site was born smoothly and the technical support during the implementation was quick. We got expert and very friendly service.
With the co-operation, Finnish PEN received a modern, stylish and easy-to-use internet visibility. Finally we can launch the online appeals for threatened authors and our releases from Freedom of Expression Awards to the PEN declarations can be found more easily than before. The Free Word is a set of articles that appears on the new Finnish PEN website. We publish poetry, prose, essays and articles mainly by our members but also texts written by writers whose freedom of expression is endangered. Free Word is also a platform for texts discussing current freedom of expression topics.
Warm thanks to Recommended Oy!
